I’m semi-new to Bayesian statistics as well as machine learning but I’ve read a couple papers and have take a big interest in Pyro. I’m wondering if there’s anybody I can talk to to start contributing or to simply learn more from?

a great place to start can be to put together a medium complexity example/tutorial, e.g. implementing a particular model from a paper.
i’d probably suggest you work in numpyro over pyro, since numpyro probably has more active development these days.
